Für seine hervorragenden Bläser, seine kraftvollen Streicher und seine dynamische Spielkultur berühmt, steht das Orchester des Hessischen Rundfunks für musikalische Exzellenz sowie für ein interessantes und vielseitiges Repertoire. Mit innovativen Konzertformaten, vielbeachteten CD-Produktionen und Online-Angeboten, der steten Präsenz in europäischen Musikzentren wie Wien, Salzburg, Madrid oder Paris sowie regelmäßigen Tourneen nach Asien unterstreicht das hr-Sinfonieorchester seine exponierte Position in der europäischen Orchesterlandschaft und genießt als Frankfurt Radio Symphony weltweit einen hervorragenden Ruf. Bekannt geworden durch die Maßstäbe setzenden Ersteinspielungen der Urfassungen von Bruckners Sinfonien und die erste digitale Gesamtaufnahme aller Mahler-Sinfonien, begründete das hr-Sinfonieorchester eine Tradition in der Interpretation romantischer Literatur, die vom langjährigen Chefdirigenten und heutigen Ehrendirigenten Eliahu Inbal über seine Nachfolger Dmitrij Kitajenko und Hugh Wolff bis hin zur Ära des heutigen »Conductor Laureate« Paavo Järvi ausstrahlte. Mit Alain Altinoglu begrüßt das hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt in der Saison 2021/22 einen neuen Chefdirigenten.  Founded in 1929 as one of the first radio symphony orchestras in Germany, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony has been one of the leading international Mahler and Bruckner orchestras since decades and today successfully negotiates the challenges of a modern top-ranking orchestra. Famed for its outstanding wind section, its powerful strings and its dynamic and sophisticated playing, the orchestra of the Hessischer Rundfunk (German Public Radio of Hesse) together with its Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada is associated with musical excellence but also with an interesting and varied repertoire.With innovative new concert formats, highly acclaimed CD productions and online offerings, regular appearances in music capitals such as Vienna, Salzburg, Madrid and Paris as well as regular tours to Asia, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony underlines its prominent position within the European orchestral landscape and has an outstanding reputation worldwide. Known for its groundbreaking world premiere recordings of the original versions of Bruckner's symphonies and the first complete digital recording of all Mahler symphonies, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony established a tradition in the interpretation of Romantic literature, which radiated from the longtime Music Director and current Honorary Conductor Eliahu Inbal to his successors Dmitri Kitaenko and Hugh Wolff, and on to the era of today's »Conductor Laureate« Paavo Järvi. Alain Altinoglu will be the new Music Director of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony from the 2021/22 season.

Alain AltinogluChefdirigent Alain Altinuglu übernimmt mit Beginn der Saison 2021/22 die musikalische Leitung des hr-Sinfonieorchesters. Altinoglu feiert mit seinen Interpretationen des romantischen und impressionistischen Repertoires wie seinem Engagement für die Musik der Gegenwart und der Klassischen Moderne international große Erfolge. Regelmäßig gastiert er bei den renommierten amerikanischen Orchestern in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland und Philadelphia wie auch beim Philharmonia Orchestra London, dem City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, dem London Symphony Orchestra sowie den führenden Orchestern in Paris. Sein erfolgreiches Debüt bei den Berliner Philharmonikern gab Altinoglu im Jahr 2017, Anfang 2020 wird sein Debüt beim Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam folgen. Eine intensive Zusammenarbeit verbindet ihn außerdem mit den Wiener Philharmonikern. Alain Altinoglu gehört zudem zur Liga der international hoch renommierten Operndirigenten. An vielen bedeutenden Opernhäusern weltweit hat er bereits Premieren geleitet. Neben der Metropolitan Opera New York, dem Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, dem Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, der Staatsoper Wien, dem Opernhaus Zürich, der Deutschen Oper Berlin, der Staatsoper Unter den Linden, der Bayerischen Staatsoper München sowie den drei Pariser Opernhäusern gastiert er regelmäßig auch bei den Festspielen in Bayreuth, Salzburg, Orange und Aix-en-Provence.


Alain Altinoglu is the designated new Music Director of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony. He will take over the baton from the 2021/22 season. Altinoglu is internationally very successful with his interpretations of the romantic and impressionist repertoire as well as with the contemporary music and classical modernism. He is a frequent guest with the renowned American orchestras in Boston, Chicago and Cleveland as well as with the Philharmonia Orchestra London, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra and the leading orchestras in Paris. Altinoglu made his successful debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2017, followed by his debut with the Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam in early 2020. He has also worked closely with the Vienna Philharmonic.Alain Altinoglu is also a member of the league of internationally renowned opera conductors. Since 2016 he has been Music Director of the Brussels »Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie«. He has already conducted premieres at many of the world's leading opera houses. In addition to the Metropolitan Opera New York, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, the Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, the Vienna State Opera, the Zurich Opera House, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Bavarian State Opera Munich as well as the three Parisian opera houses, he regularly gives guest performances at the festivals in Bayreuth, Salzburg, Orange and Aix-en-Provence.As a pianist, Alain Altinoglu maintains a strong affinity and command over the Lied repertoire and occasionally makes excursions into the fields of jazz and improvisation. Numerous CD releases testify to his diverse and successful artistic work.Born in Paris in 1975, the conductor of Armenian origin studied at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse, where he teaches since then and leads the conducting class since 2014.
